Are you looking for some help? BIA can provide assistance to you on your toughest problems.
Technical Notes and Brick Construction on Brick Construction is a series of bulletins that contain design, detailing, and construction information based on the latest technical developments in brick masonry. Drawings, photographs, tables and charts illustrate each topic.
Brick Briefs are short discussions on specific topics related primarily to the design, construction, and maintenance of residential brick masonry. Formerly known as Engineering and Research Digests, these are written in a format that is friendlier to non-technical users than the Technical Notes series.
CAD Details provides assistance on a multitude of problems including, but not limited to, arches, bearing walls, chimneys, fire rating, flashing/weepholes, foundations, mortar joints, shelf angles, wall ties and window details.
The Brick Bookstore contains a selection of books, brochures, manuals and videos on brick construction and design.
If the BIA Technical Notes do not specifically address your particular brick issue, BIA staff engineers are available to assist you on a limited basis. In order to use this service, please provide your name, organization, full mailing address, email and phone number when contacting BIA. Also indicate whether you are an architect, engineer, contractor, home builder, building owner or homeowner. Contact BIA's engineers at 703.620.0010 / brickinfo@bia.org.
Some of the BIA regional offices also offer technical support. See if there is one in your area and contact them directly.
