The Brick Industry Association's
Brick PAC for a
Stronger America
and
The PAC for Stronger
Communities
On October
16, 2006, BIA's Board of Directors approved the formation of the Federal
Political Action Committee (PAC) named
BIA's Brick PAC for a Stronger America, as well as
the formation of the Indiana PAC named PAC
for Stronger Communities. These PACs were established to help safeguard the
brick industry and increase market share for clay brick.
BIA's Brick PAC for a Stronger America
This PAC was
established to assist BIA
in
communicating brick industry positions on key policy issues to U.S.
Representatives and Senators in order to protect and strengthen the brick industry.
The Federal
Election Commission has determined that a trade association may solicit only
the restricted class of member corporations, i.e. their executive and
administrative personnel, for contributions to the PAC.
However, before BIA's PAC may
solicit, BIA must obtain written
authorization (a signed Prior Approval Form) from the corporation's principal BIA
member. For your convenience, the Prior Approval
Form is provided. (If you are a member without a password, please
contact
Michaela Rydstrom at
703.674.1546 / mrydstrom@bia.org, who will assist you in obtaining one.)
Because we
need the signature of the BIA
principal member willing to be solicited, we ask that you complete and then
fax or mail the form to us at the fax number/address listed below.
We
encourage you to be an active participant in the legislative process and by
returning the form, you participate in
democracy by making your voice heard. Brick Industry Association's Brick PAC for a Stronger America
is a multi-candidate committee.
If you are
a member of BIA and would like more
information on these programs, please contact:

not a member, BIA is disallowed from
forwarding a Prior Approval form; however, BIA
encourages you to participate in the PAC
for Stronger Communities, which can accept contributions from
non-members, as well as members.
