Entry Materials
All entries into the 2006 Brick In Architecture Awards will require several components. For your ease and convenience, each of these elements will be submitted via our online competition website.
After setting up your initial registration, you may begin creating your entry. You may save your entry at any point and will be able to revise or enhance your submission at any point up until the competition's closing date. The entry does not have to be completed all at once.
The following components will be required of each entry submitted to the Brick In Architecture Awards program:
- Project Description & Details - required
Answers to the following questions should fully explain the project's design goals, concepts, solutions, site characteristics, and limiting factors. Emphasis should be on the role and use of brick, but answers should also give an understanding of the project as a whole.
- Provide a general overview or summary of the project.
- Define the project's aesthetic goals. How did the use of clay brick help achieve those goals?
- Define the project's functional requirements. How did the use of clay brick help meet those requirements?
- Photography & Floor Plan - required
Photographs and floor plans uploaded and submitted for this competition must be at least 8 x 10 in size, between 72 and 100 dpi, and in JPEG or GIF format. Photos must be professionally shot, first- class digital photographs and must include the following:
- Each of the exposed sides or elevations of the building
- Close-ups of pertinent details
- Photograph showing the building in its immediate surroundings
- For projects involving renovation, one photograph of each renovated section before and after the renovation
- Floor plan
- Other materials - optional
In addition to the descriptive write-up, photography, and floor plan, other materials such as CAD drawings, schematics, renderings, elevations, or sketches may be submitted which help illustrate and best represent the entry. Again, these other materials must be at least 8 x 10 in size, between 72 and 100 dpi, and in JPEG of GIF format.
