Attend & Learn

We have been the national resource for clay brick construction since our founding in 1934, and BIA is the only organization devoted specifically to the clay brick industry. We offer brick-specific, credentialed education courses found nowhere else that appeal to both design and construction professionals.

BIA is involved with several types of events that are integral to our industry. We offer members-only events where members conduct the business of the association and participate in networking events, broader events (such as the Brick Forum) that involve the entire brick industry and other meetings, where the brick industry plays a part with other industries.

AIA Continuing Education

Because brick has been used so frequently for so long, BIA offers architects and designers a variety of courses and learning venues where they can learn about our product. Quick snapshots can be viewed on our YouTube channel. We also offer online courses through Hanley Wood University and AEC Daily, our own courses that can be taken online, and a series of “live” courses that can be delivered by BIA staff or BIA members who hold the Certified Brick Specialist (CBS) designation.

Builder Education

Since the majority of brick goes into single family housing, BIA makes sure that builders have valuable information about brick in residential applications. Those who have tight time schedules can view helpful nuggets of information on our YouTube channel. We also offer an onsite “Bricklaying Knowledge Program” that was developed by BIA technical and master mason professionals.

Brick University

brick-universityDesigned to impart a high-level knowledge about brick products and the brick business, the Brick University curriculum is comprised of 14 in-depth technical and sales training examinations created and managed by BIA. Upon successful completion of all exams in all courses, participants earn BIA’s Certified Brick Specialist (CBS) designation. This curriculum is only offered to BIA members.

YouTube Channel

Those who have tight time schedules can view helpful nuggets of information on our YouTube channel.  We have created over 30 videos that span a variety of topics ranging from architectural and builder issues, to why consumers should look at brick and more.
